In this reporting period the team has continued school screenings at Bruntville Primary, where screening had start-ed in the previous quarter. | Learnership Interns | Update | The learnership students have attended their final class for the year. All learners are performing well and are on track with their current modules. | Principal Leadership | Update | There is no active principal leadership programme in place with Citizen Leader Lab (CLL) for the remainder of the year. 4 circles have been completed over the past 6 years. A refresher and deepening of leadership skills under the CLL banner is currently funding dependant for 2026. Principal and SMT leadership support and skills remain a need as the DOE provides no leadership training / capacitation. | Over the past 2 years Vrystaat primary has been the beneficiary for their impressive school tunnel garden. Lions River Primary has also received a smaller donation for their abundant kitchen garden. Jabula Combined school hosted their matric prayer luncheon on Monday 20 October and business leaders have generously contributed towards drinks and snacks. The WhatsApp grounds with all 4 leadership circles remain deeply connecting and supportive. School Maintenance During September, I completed comprehensive school maintenance audits as part of Trafalgar’s monthly rotation cycle. Four schools were covered in this period, ensuring that all key infrastructure and maintenance needs were assessed and documented. Old Boys’ Video The Old Boys’ Video project has progressed well. Recommended changes were imple-mented using the updated script received via email. Ryan is currently finalizing these edits and will circulate the second draft shortly for review and approval. Social Media Management I successfully maintained weekly posts across our Instagram and Facebook platforms, ensuring consistent communication and engagement with our audience. To further enhance our online presence, I recommend introducing an additional Twitter/X account to broaden our digital reach and influence. Website Updates For the website, I prepared and uploaded the Quarter 3 Newsletter along with three new blog posts, providing fresh and informative content for visitors. These updates con-tribute to maintaining an active and engaging online platform for our stakeholders. Rector’s E-News The Annual Choir Competition blog, a condensed version of the Q3 newsletter, and the Weenen Trip article were all submitted to Nikki for inclusion in the Rector’s E-News. | ECD | Update | The training on fundraising strategies for ECD principals took place on 16 September 2025. The GROW ECD team. They educated the principals on several types of fundrais-ing strategies such as centre-based and community-based fundraising, as well as on goal setting and the use of planning tools. The GROW team also encouraged the prin-cipals to do their fundraising plan calendars before the start of the first term of 2026. The GROW team is expected to return later this month to conduct a learner assess-ment training. There is also an ongoing learner assessment competition, which runs until the 5th of December 2025. To enter, centres must complete learner assessments on the GROW app and ensure that at least 80% of their learners are assessed by the closing date. Participating centres stand a chance to win one of the 2 smartphones. | Annual Choir Competition | Update | On the 22nd of September, we hosted the MCPT Annual Choir Competition at the Michaelhouse Theatre. It was a wonderful and memorable day filled with music, talent, and enthusiasm from both primary and high school learners. A total of 450 students participated in this year’s event, displaying their exceptional musical skills and teamwork.
